Concern As Many Homes Cannot Be Reached With Oil Deliveries

Thousands of homes could find themselves without heating oil as the freezing cold weather continues to wreak havoc across the country. There has already been one oil company that simply cannot keep up with the oil demands. They are not coping with the sudden increased demand and residents are suffering as a result. Some homes have not had any oil deliveries for over a month as the company cannot get the oil to them and have had to cancel deliveries.

The company has assured its customers that they are working flat out to try to get orders filled as soon as possible and have apologised for these lengthy delays. But with this weather set to continue for a while there are residents in other parts of the country who are worrying that they could be next.

To make matters worse, there was fresh snow falls across some parts of the United Kingdom making roads even more treacherous once the temperatures began to drop again. These treacherous roads are making it dangerous for oil delivery lorries to try to get to some parts of the country.

So oil companies are facing difficulties on two sides as they find it hard to get to some areas and they are facing increased demands for oil due to the weather. It is becoming more and more difficult for customers to reach oil companies now as they are being swamped with new orders. Many customers simply cannot get through to place their oil orders.

With these problems surfacing, the Department for Transport has given permission for delivery drivers to work for longer orders to try to limit the problem. With many parts of the country lulled into a false sense of security before snow began to fall again this week, there are concerns as to how long this is likely to last.

Getting the home heated up during winter can be very expensive. Gas and electricity are very expensive today, with no signs of prices coming down. Clever people are switching to heating oil as a fuel though. And when this happens they have to ensure the tanks re always full of cheapest heating oil ensuring they can always heat their home in winter.
